Stacy Rucker launches Bigfoot Forever. Frightening sounds in one Oregon community are part of its origin story.

I just launched my new middle grade novel Bigfoot Forever.  It is available on30839338-1 in print and will soon be available in the kindle version as soon as it’s approved.  I thought you might be interested in learning the inspiration for the novel.

It all began a few years ago when, you might recall, Bigfoot was all over the news.  For days it was at the top of the yahoo trending list, and here’s why.  Residents in one Oregon community widely reporting hearing mysterious sounds which they could not identify. Many speculated that it was Bigfoot.

Now, whether or not it actually was Bigfoot almost didn’t seem to matter to me.  I was struck by the intrigue of the situation, enough that I was eventually inspired by write my next book.  This didn’t happen immediately.  First I was just taken in enough that I wanted to get my hands on and wrap my brain around all things Bigfoot, purely for my own self gratification.  Soon I took my family to the Bigfoot museum near the home or our relatives. Below is a photo of my daughter standing outside the museum.

Of course, I also felt compelled to research everything I could online, the most interesting of which were youtube videos with supposed clips of Bigfoot weaving in and out of trees.  Some users posted snapshots as well.  Most of these videos and photos are quite blurry, but some capture more detail than you would expect.  Are they real?  Can anyone really know, even those that claim to be experts on the subject?  I don’t really think so, but the mystery is also the most intriguing element of the ongoing saga of Bigfoot.  I like that no one really knows if he is real.  It doesn’t mean that there aren’t those that are adamantly set on one side of the other, but Bigfoot exists outside of those opinions, and whether he exists in the realm of reality of our imaginations is not for me to say.

It is my hope that children and adults alike will enjoy Bigfoot Forever, wherever their beliefs may fall on the dividing line.  If you have Bigfoot fever, or even if you are ever so slightly intrigued by the subject, take a look at my novel.  If nothing else, it will give you more information about many of the prevalent beliefs within the Bigfoot community.

My givea30839338-1way is live today, July 11th.  I’m super excited to launch my new middle grade fiction book, and I decided that a little effort on my part to let people know what it’s all about might be a helpful way to create interest, or so I hope.  Please come read the description and enter the giveaway if interested.  This one was really fun to write.  I was an early childhood educator for ten years, and though I feel that this background with children was helpful, it was more helpful still remembering what it was like being a kid.  Most would attest, it’s not easy.  Children sometimes fantasize about adventure or even escape when they have most of the decisions in their lives being made for them.  My protagonist, Lacey, is one such example.  Her craving for adventure is fulfilled, but not in the way she might have imagined or hoped.  When she comes to befriend a Bigfoot, whom she calls BF, she is excited about the adventure which accompanies such a union.  Lacey’s family is in a state of readjustment, and being with BF gives her the escape she needs, but when BF suddenly decides to take her from her family, on a trek across the California wilderness, Lacey comes to realize just how much she values and misses them.  Bigfoot forever is about family, love and growing up.  Have questions about the novel?  Feel free to ask.  I’d love to hear from you.  And don’t forget….Enter Goodreads Giveaway here

My first published work, Murder and the Rose Garden by Jaycee Relic

get here

Technicallycharlotte rose garden this was my first published novel, and I made the choice to post it under a pen name, Jaycee Relic.  There are many reasons people use pen names.  Obviously it lets you to write under the cloak of privacy allowing freedom to make brave choices that you won’t necessarily have to answer for later, but to my mind it has always been a romantic perk of being an author.  That’s a silly notion courtesy of the little girl who held onto this dream of writing for so many years.  However, neither of those reasons relate to my choice to take a pen name for my first published novel.  I chose to do this because I knew that Murder and the Rose Garden has a completely different flavor from my other titles.  It was most likely inspired by my love of Charlotte Bronte, and if you read it, you’ll likely see that for yourself.  You might also be interested to know that my daughter’s name is Charlotte, also inspired by the author, and that’s a photo of her on the cover.

So, while I never planned to include this title on my website, it occurred to me that none of my other titles follow any particular theme of style either.  I tend to to like variety, and when I am done with one work, I tend to go off in a completely different direction.  This may not be great for the reader who is looking for a particular style to rely upon as they launch into reading the next book, but if you’re like me and prefer variety but happen to like my writing, please keep reading. I will continue to offer Kindles at an affordable price, giving you the opportunity to read each with very little monetary risk.  Occasionally, I can even offer free days.

Murder and the Rose Garden will be free Thursday June 2nd and Friday June 3rd, in fact.  Please take a look, and if you like what you see, I would love a review.  These early reviews are very important to me as I am just starting out, and they are very much appreciated.
